Accountant fee calculator
Get an indicative annual fee for your accountancy in under a minute. Then compare real quotes.
That's roughly £30 to £60 a month, excluding VAT.
Included as standard: an onboarding review and a 9 month proactive review, so you get advice during the year, not just at year end.
A typical range, not a quote. You'll get a fixed monthly fee before you commit.
Get a real fixed-fee quoteHow we work out the range
We start from typical annual fees for each business type, adjust for turnover, then add VAT returns and, only if you need them, bookkeeping and payroll. Every client also gets an onboarding review and a 9 month proactive review included. See how much an accountant costs for the full breakdown.
Common questions
How accurate is the accountant fee calculator?
It gives an indicative range based on typical UK small business fees. Your actual quote depends on how tidy your records are, your sector and the firm.
Do accountants charge VAT?
Most do, if they're VAT registered. The calculator shows prices before VAT.
Are bookkeeping and payroll included?
No, they're extras. Many owners keep their own books in Xero and only pay for accounts and tax. Tick them in the calculator to see the difference.
What reviews are included?
Every client gets an onboarding review once you're set up and a 9 month proactive review to plan ahead before your year end, included in the fee.
What's usually included
- Tax return only: preparing and filing your Self Assessment, plus a tax calculation and payment reminders.
- Sole trader: annual accounts from your records, tax return, and advice on expenses and payments on account.
- Limited company: statutory accounts, Corporation Tax return, confirmation statement and directors' tax planning.
- Add-ons: VAT returns, payroll, bookkeeping and management accounts are priced on volume.
How to get a lower quote
- Keep your records in cloud software like Xero with bank feeds switched on.
- Send everything in one go, early, rather than drip-feeding it in January.
- Agree a fixed monthly fee by Direct Debit so there are no surprise bills.
